EARTH DEFENSE FORCE

From the ashes of Tetsuwan Fireball came Earth Defense Force, made up of myself, Ian Cory, and Jonathan Betz. I was playing bass. The single was done at Newkirk Studios with the spectacular Ben Rice. Math, Safety, and Noise. Recorded Summer '08 baby.

Time Time (and Time Again) b/w Kindergarten Gymnastics

We had a lot of songs that hopefully are not lost to time. These three songs were recorded on Jon's digital eight-track.

Tetsuwan Fireball

Tetsuwan Fireball was made of myself, Jonathan Betz (Jonnie Beat), Alex Lowchy (Alex Rekless), and Boone. Together we recorded an EP in the spring of  '06 at Galuminum Foil studios in Williamsburg. Me and Jon (mostly Jon), wrote Slide Slide, which was the first song I ever "wrote." I wrote Teenage Girl, Technicolor, and Washington Squares and Jon wrote A Little Romance (Won't Kill You But It Might Scar You for the Rest of Your Life), and Van Gogh.

Our last show with Boone was at Rebel. We made posters for that show that Davis designed they were really gorgeous. Alex Lowchy was in Disney World then so Alex Doyle filled in on bass, and took over drums so Jon could sing his numbers. This is the only recording of Train Yourself To Care, and a more rock and roll version of Guitar Childhood.

After that Boone left the band, Jon switched to lead guitar, and Doyle took over on Drums. But before Doyle came back we did this acoustic show at the Bowery Poetry Club, not to shabby, some fun covers.

A few weeks later in the summer of '07 we recorded our full length album entitled "Elegant Violence," which makes sense because none of us are particularly violent, and elegant was something we certainly weren't. Recorded at Newkirk Studios with the amazing Ben Rice.

After Doyle went to college, Jack Greenleaf, Ian Cory, and Henry Crawford joined TF for a hot second. We did one show and it was sloppy. The band slowly imploded and out of that Earth Defense Force was born.
